Driving
Chemical Technology

The Laboratory for Chemical Technology (LCT) integrates chemical science and engineering in its research on catalysis, polymerization, kinetics, reactor design and process design. LCT is part of the Department of Materials, Textiles and Chemical Engineering within the Faculty of Engineering and Architecture at Ghent University in Belgium and member of the Centre for Sustainable Chemistry (CSC) of Ghent University. LCT aims at research excellence and bottom-up innovation in the framework of technological, industrial, and societal challenges.

Georgios Bellos is a Guest Professor in the field of Chemical Process Design and Industrial Projects at the Laboratory for Chemical Technology of Ghent University. He shares his industrial knowledge about the chemical process design and chemical reaction engineering and connects the two worlds of new scientific concepts development with the synthesis of a chemical process design integrated with energy analysis and process evaluation. Georgios' role at the university is a part-time Professorship role next to his role as Principal Research Scientist at Dow in the Netherlands. His main technology expertise is around hydroprocessing and steam cracking, including process and materials evaluation. His long experience in R&D contributed to develop skills in multidimensional statistical analysis and visualization of complex data. Georgios has more than 20 years’ experience in the refining and petrochemical sectors at different locations.
