Driving
Chemical Technology

The Laboratory for Chemical Technology (LCT) integrates chemical science and engineering in its research on catalysis, polymerization, kinetics, reactor design and process design. LCT is part of the Department of Materials, Textiles and Chemical Engineering within the Faculty of Engineering and Architecture at Ghent University in Belgium and member of the Centre for Sustainable Chemistry (CSC) of Ghent University. LCT aims at research excellence and bottom-up innovation in the framework of technological, industrial, and societal challenges.

Polymer technology, synthesis, curing, characterization, and rheology.

He graduated from Chemical Engineering in 2000 and completed his MSc in Chemical Engineering in 2007. He worked as assistant professor at the Simon Bolivar University until 2013 and then as Process Design Engineer with an EPC group until 2016. In 2019, he started an interdisciplinary PhD with the faculty of Veterinary Medicine and the faculty of Engineering and Architecture). It focused on acrylic resin casting, curing, and characterization. After obtaining his PhD in 2023, he started a position as postdoctoral assistant. His current work focuses on kinetics studies via pulsed laser polymerization, polymer rheology, and the linking between mathematical modelling with experimental characterization.
