Marvin Kusenberg
Marvin Kusenberg is an assistant professor at the Laboratory for Chemical Technology (LCT) at Ghent University in the group of Professor Kevin Van Geem. His research is focused on chemical recycling technologies of challenging waste streams including post-consumer plastic waste and end-of-life tires. A specific research interest is pyrolysis and the subsequent steam cracking of the obtained pyrolysis oils with a special emphasis on plastic waste contaminants and their removal from pyrolysis oils. In parallel, he is heavily involved in research and stakeholder discussions related to mass balance approaches and recycled content accounting for chemical recycling. His activities include collaboration with industrial stakeholders, policymakers, and certification bodies, as well as contributions through scientific presentations, technical workshops, and conference participation focused on the practical implementation and regulatory aspects of mass balance systems for chemical recycling.
