Driving
Chemical Technology

The Laboratory for Chemical Technology (LCT) integrates chemical science and engineering in its research on catalysis, polymerization, kinetics, reactor design and process design. LCT is part of the Department of Materials, Textiles and Chemical Engineering within the Faculty of Engineering and Architecture at Ghent University in Belgium and member of the Centre for Sustainable Chemistry (CSC) of Ghent University. LCT aims at research excellence and bottom-up innovation in the framework of technological, industrial, and societal challenges.

Separation and identification of complex hydrocarbon mixtures by comprehensive two-dimensional gas chromatography

Dr. Frank Cheng-Yu Wang joined LCT as a postdoctoral researcher in September 2025, under the supervision of Prof. Kevin M. Van Geem. His research interest is multi-dimensional separation of complex hydrocarbon mixtures, especially in comprehensive two-dimensional gas chromatography technology. His research aligns with Circular process design themes and aims to improve the separation, detection, identification, and quantitation of reaction products of any hydrocarbon mixtures.
