After her graduation as chemical engineer at Ghent University, Alexandra started in 2015 her PhD at UGent under the supervision of prof. dr. ir. Joris Thybaut, prof. dr. ir. Jeriffa Declercq and dr. Benjamin Katryniok (UCCS, Lille, France). Her research focused on the valorization of waste streams into value-added components, and included an assistantship affiliated with the Laboratory for Chemical Technology and the research group Industrial Catalysis and Adsorption Technology. Alexandra successfully defended his PhD in October 2021. Afterwards she started working as an Innovation Grant Consultant at MOORE Grants & Incentives. In March 2023, Alexandra rejoined the Laboratory for Chemical Technology as a doctoral-assistant.
