Driving
Chemical Technology

The Laboratory for Chemical Technology (LCT) integrates chemical science and engineering in its research on catalysis, polymerization, kinetics, reactor design and process design. LCT is part of the Department of Materials, Textiles and Chemical Engineering within the Faculty of Engineering and Architecture at Ghent University in Belgium and member of the Centre for Sustainable Chemistry (CSC) of Ghent University. LCT aims at research excellence and bottom-up innovation in the framework of technological, industrial, and societal challenges.

Second European Research Council Proof of Concept (ERC-PoC) grant for prof. Joris Thybaut

(13-09-2018)

With SERENiTi, a second Proof of Concept (PoC) grant has been awarded to prof. Joris Thybaut by the European Research Council (ERC)

After the support via his first PoC grant ELR1K, which allowed guaranteeing the user-friendliness of the microkinetic engine tool, the challenge now is to ensure the robustness of the engine. This will be achieved via the implementation of transient solution strategies as part of SERENiTi. This software package, specifically designed for microkinetic model construction, fits within the Consolidator Grant i-CaD, which still runs till June 2019.
