Driving
Chemical Technology

The Laboratory for Chemical Technology (LCT) integrates chemical science and engineering in its research on catalysis, polymerization, kinetics, reactor design and process design. LCT is part of the Department of Materials, Textiles and Chemical Engineering within the Faculty of Engineering and Architecture at Ghent University in Belgium and member of the Centre for Sustainable Chemistry (CSC) of Ghent University.

LCT – team returns from two synchrotron campaigns

(19-12-2017)

The LCT synchrotron team (S. Theofanidis, V. Galvita, J. Hu, H. Poelman, S. Nadadur) returned today from one week work at the ESRF synchrotron. The first part of the campaign took place at the DUBBLE beam line, where in situ methane dry reforming in presence of sulphur (H2S) over Ni-based catalysts was investigated using X-ray Absorption Spectroscopy. Hereafter, X-ray Raman Scattering at ID20 was applied on as prepared and poisoned Ni samples, following light elements like S, O, Mg, Al.
