Driving
Chemical Technology

The Laboratory for Chemical Technology (LCT) integrates chemical science and engineering in its research on catalysis, polymerization, kinetics, reactor design and process design. LCT is part of the Department of Materials, Textiles and Chemical Engineering within the Faculty of Engineering and Architecture at Ghent University in Belgium and member of the Centre for Sustainable Chemistry (CSC) of Ghent University. LCT aims at research excellence and bottom-up innovation in the framework of technological, industrial, and societal challenges.

Kevin Van Geem receives ERC Consolidator Grant

(02-12-2018)

The ERC recently published the results of the ERC Consolidator Grant call of 2018. Kevin Van Geem receives about 2 million euro to strive for a breakthrough which will be very important to both science and society. Driven by process intensification and in combination with the enormous power of high performance computing (HPC) his ERC project OPTIMA will take full advantage of 3D printing and the enormous power of supercomputers to enhance heat and mass transfer in advanced chemical reactors by using multiscale modelling and experimentation starting from renewable feedstocks.
