Driving
Chemical Technology

The Laboratory for Chemical Technology (LCT) integrates chemical science and engineering in its research on catalysis, polymerization, kinetics, reactor design and process design. LCT is part of the Department of Materials, Textiles and Chemical Engineering within the Faculty of Engineering and Architecture at Ghent University in Belgium and member of the Centre for Sustainable Chemistry (CSC) of Ghent University. LCT aims at research excellence and bottom-up innovation in the framework of technological, industrial, and societal challenges.

Wenhua Zhang obtained her PhD from University of Science and Technology of China (USTC) in 2008 and Royal Institute of Technology (KTH) in 2010. From 2009 to 2016, she worked as postdoctoral researcher in USTC. Since 2016, she is an associate professor at department of materials science and engineering at USTC. She worked as visiting professor in Australian National University during 2018. Her research interest is understanding the mechanisms of heterogeneous catalysis at atomic scale and theoretical design of new catalytic material for energy conversion process such as CO2 reduction, N2 reduction, oxygen evolution reaction, CO oxidation and so on.
