Driving
Chemical Technology

The Laboratory for Chemical Technology (LCT) integrates chemical science and engineering in its research on catalysis, polymerization, kinetics, reactor design and process design. LCT is part of the Department of Materials, Textiles and Chemical Engineering within the Faculty of Engineering and Architecture at Ghent University in Belgium and member of the Centre for Sustainable Chemistry (CSC) of Ghent University. LCT aims at research excellence and bottom-up innovation in the framework of technological, industrial, and societal challenges.

Modelling catalytic energy conversion reactions via DFT calculations

He received his M.Sc. degree in Physical Chemistry from Xinjiang University under the supervision of Prof. Yudai Huang in 2018. He completed his Ph.D. in 2022 at the University of Copenhagen under the supervision of Prof. Jan Rossmeisl. During his PhD, he was a visiting researcher with Ivano E. Castelli at the Technical University of Denmark. Currently, he is a postdoctoral researcher at the Laboratory for Chemical Technology at Ghent University under the supervision of Prof. Mark Saeys. His research interests include modeling catalytic conversion of carbon dioxide to value-added chemicals over multimetallic alloys and metal supported on metal oxides via Density functional theory (DFT) calculations.
